Minutes of the Lebanon Public Library Board of Trustees
October 28, 2002
Jane Myers, Sharon Wood, Linda Jones, and Marsha Truitt were in attendance. Huck Lewis was in Taiwan. Ruth Lucas and Ron Morelock arrived late. George Piper attended from the Lebanon Reporter.
The Secretary’s report was missing details and will be shared next month.
Sharon made the motion to approve the claims for the month and Linda gave the second. The claims were for 9/20/02-10/28/02.
Todd Meyer has resigned as our Library Board attorney, due to being appointed to the office of prosecutor. The Library Board has appointed David Truitt to be the new attorney for the Library Board. Linda made the motion to appoint Mr. Truitt and Ruth gave the second. Marsha abstained from voting.
Scott Wood of Odle, McGuire & Shook will be at the November 20 meeting.
Three short presentations were made by companies wanting to be the Project Managers for the building project. Dan Sulkoske represented Kramer Corporation. They are a construction management company who has worked on the Brownsburg Library, Sycamore School, and the North Putnam Schools. Paul Cripe spoke on behalf of his Project Management firm. Bob Enoch and Tim Berryman represented Tecton. After the presentations, the Board discussed the different firms. Ruth made the motion and Marsha gave the second to hire Dan Sulkoske of Kramer Corporation to work for the Library Board.
Kay talked about the importance of working with the legislators to let them know the importance of INSPIRE. Ruth made the motion and Sharon gave the second to sponsor Senator Jeff Thompson for an upcoming legislative luncheon. The cost is $25.00.
Friday, November 1 is the ILF District meeting in Glendale. There is a Trustee Workshop from 10:00-11:15.
Tom Isley contacted us about the Ed Peterson property. We will see about $60,000 for this half of the sale.
The next Board meeting is Wednesday, November 20, 2002. An Executive Session will be held at 4:00 p.m. The regular meeting will begin near 5:00 p.m.
