Little Readers Book Reviews

During winter reading write a review of a book you have read from the library and get a chance to win a prize! Just pick up a form at the Children's Department Desk and tell us why you loved (or hated) the book. Your review may also appear on our website.

Winter Reading Scavenger Hunt

Pick up a Scavenger hunt form at the Children's Desk. The answers to the scavenger hunt questions can be found at the library. When you are finished return it to the Children's Desk for a chance to win a prize!

In Love with the Library Valentine Making Contest

Do you love coming to the library to take home cool stuff? If you do, then we want you to make a Valentine card to the library telling us why you love it. The designer of the most creative Library Valentine will win a prize. Contest deadline is the day before Valentine's Day, Saturday February 11th. Turn your library Valentine in at the Children's Department Desk with your name, phone number, school and grade level on the back.

Bookmark Design Contest

Pick up an entry form on which to draw you original design that relates to libraries, books, or reading. Only entries on the library form will be judged. Any art media may be used, as long as it is reproducible. Winning entries will be printed and distributed through the Lebanon Public Library and posted on our website. Bookmark entries are due Saturday March 17th.

Poetry Contest

The library invites children in Kindergarten through 5th grade to participate in our poetry contest. Check out some poetry books from the library. Think about things that interest you and choosing your own words write your own thoughts into a poem on the subject of your choice. Turn your poem into the Children's Department Desk with your name, grade, school and phone number attached. Entries are due Saturday April 21st.

Devon the pet therapy dog

WINTER READING WILL BEGIN ON JANUARY 9TH!

Win one prize each week by reading a book! Pick up a reading log at the Children's Department Desk! Winter Reading will end on March 17th.

Read with DEVON — Thursday, February 9, 7:00 pm

Devon is a golden retriever who is a registered pet partner therapy dog with the DELTA society. She loves children and is excited to listen to them read a book. Studies show that reading aloud to an animal can help improve children's reading skills and confidence. Children and their caregivers may stop by to meet Devon and her owner, Deborah Abbott. The library will have a selection of books for all levels of readers to share with Devon. A craft is available while you wait for your turn with Devon, as well.

Story Times

Listen to fun books and meet new friends at Story Time! Beginning January 10th, daytime story times are held each Tuesday and Thursday morning at 10:30 am, for all preschool aged children. Pick up a complete calendar in the Children's Department.
