- Public Meeting hosted by the Friends of Boone County Trails (FBCT) in Thorntown at 7 pm at the Thorntown Public Library (located at 124 N. Market St. in Thorntown) to discuss the Keewasakee Trail construction project using the FBCT portion of the $180,000 of RTP funds from the DNR. This will be the first construction phase for the Farm Heritage Trail project as it stretches from Lebanon to Lafayette. The FBCT encourage all those interested in lending a helping hand to come to this meeting as they spell out the construction plans for this project. Friends of Boone County Trails website.

- Gardenfest 2008 from 9 am - 3 pm at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds in Lebanon, IN (just east of I-65, at Exit 138). Free trees will be given to guests on behalf of the Indiana Soil & Water Conservation's "Plant a Million Trees" Project. Free seminars are scheduled each hour for valuable tips and strategies for your yard landscapes and vegetable gardens. Browse for gardening gifts at the many outstanding vendor booths. - Safe Sitter program sponsored by the Boone County Family YMCA from 8:30 am 4 pm for ages 11-13. Fee for a program member is $55 or the fee for a potential program member is $65. Developed especially for teens, this course teaches the skills needed to safely care for children infants through school age. This program is designed to promote a safe environment not only for those who care for infants and children out side of their home, but also for their siblings inside their home. - Jimmy Durante Fundraiser to benefit the Boone County Special Olympics at the Lebanon Eagles (2140 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon, IN 46052). All you can eat hog roast from 6pm to 8pm. Long Overdue band from 8pm to 12am. There will be an auction around 9pm and raffles thoughtout the night. All money raised goes directly to the Boone County Special Olympics. Public is welcome to come out and enjoy the evening.
