- Celebrate the 100th anniversary of the dedication of the Boone County courthouse. Come join the celebration! Program plans include a rededication ceremony, courthouse tours every half hour from noon - 4pm, patriotic music and a reception at the historic Cragun House that will be open to the public. The Boone County Courthouse Centennial Committee consists of representatives from Boone County government, the Boone County Bar Association, the Boone County Historical Society, the 4th of July Committee, the Lebanon Public Library and the City of Lebanon. The celebration will take place on the south side of the courthouse from 4:30-5:30 pm after Lebanon's July 4th Parade with the reception at the Cragun house immediately following. The Boone County Bar Association is a major sponsor of this event with funding from the Community Foundation of Boone County. - (Update on 6-30-12: Events at Lions Park cancelled to to dry conditions and extreme heat) July 4th Celebration at Lions Park in Zionsville starting at 5 pm.Corn Hole tournament will begin at 5pm (Teams can sign up by emailing markw.lionsclub@gmail.com or in Lions Park on July 4th--raindate July 9th). The Lions Club will have a Kids Corner with moonwalks, face painting, clowns, mascots and more. The entertainment will begin in the gazebo at 6 pm and continue until dusk. They will entertain the crowds with music from all decades and an awesome patriotic tribute. Both the newly crowned Miss Indiana and Miss Indiana Outstanding Teen will perform their talent and have an autograph signing. Fireworks start at dusk (about 10 pm). Rain date set for Saturday July 7, 2012. Hosted by the Zionsville Lions Club.

- Christmas In July Fair sponsored by Mechanicsburg Christian Church from 9 am - 3 pm at Dull's Christmas Tree Farm (1765 Blubaugh Avenue, Thorntown, IN). Proceeds benefit H.E.R.S. for Her of Boone County a program of the Boone County Community Clinic. Christmas in July is a fundraising event for Mechanicsburg Christian Church. There will be a variety of local musicians providing entertainment and drawings for free giveaway's throughout the day. Free supervised activities for kids. (Note: several families in Mechanicsburg are having garage sales.) Also, for every $2 donated you will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Dull Tree gift certificate to be used at Christmas time. Lunch and snack items will be available for purchase on the farm in the Stone Cabin Inn.

- Purdue Club of Boone County Annual Golf Outing/Cookout (non-golfers are welcome for cookout and fellowship) at Cool Lake Golf Course (coollakegolf.com). Registration starts at 3:30 pm, shotgun start at 4 pm and cook-out and prizes at 6:30 pm. Format is a 9 hole, Florida scramble. - The 9th Annual Boone County Polo Event at Hickory Hall Polo Club (located north of Zionsville at 7551 E 100 N, Whitestown, Indiana). Gates open at noon and the match begins at 1 pm. There are activities for the entire family: tournament polo match, best polo box decorating contest, the coveted pretty woman award, kids activities enjoy a bouncy house, face painting, airplane flyer over and more! General admission is $20 per car load or polo boxes can be purchased by local businesses, clubs and individuals/families. - Boone County Economic Development Corporation Annual Meeting from 7:30 to 9:30 am at at Eagle Church in Whitestown, IN. Governor Mitch Daniels will be the keynote speaker for the meeting. The Boone EDC will be raffling off an iPad sponsored by Hachette Book Group. The proceeds of the raffle will be donated to Boone County Councilperson David Rodgers and his family to be used to cover unexpected expenses related to the councilperson's recent accident. Tickets will be $20 a piece or three for $50. Please bring cash if you wish to participate. A continental breakfast with pastries, fruit, and juice will be provided free of charge and sponsored by Edward Jones. This meeting is open to the public and there is no cost to attend. - Spanish in the Summertime for preschool – K at 11 – 11:30 am, grades 1 – 2 at 1 – 1:30 pm , grades 3 – 5 at 2 – 2:30 pm at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library (250 North 5th Street, Zionsville, Indiana, 46077). Have fun and learn some Spanish at the same time with teachers from Learn Another Language (LAL). Whether you are a beginner, or have had some Spanish in school, these classes will make learning another language fun! Registration required. Cost: $5 per class, cash only. - Free Sunday Concert "Someone to Watch Over Me Love songs of friendship and romance" by the Indianapolis Municipal Band (Director: Dr. David Bolin) in Lions Park in Zionsville (115 S Elm Street, just off 334, in Zionsville). Concert begins at 7pm. Food and drinks offered for a donation to Lions Park. Bring your own lawn chair. The series theme this summer is ""Love Is In The Air - A musical tribute to the many forms of love." Hosted by the Zionsville Lions Club. Rain location in the Lions Clubhouse.
