The Lebanon Educational Foundation will hold its 14th Annual Meeting on Monday, April 18, 2005 at Hattie B. Stokes Elementary located at 1005 Hendricks Drive in Lebanon. The meeting is open to the public and attendees will have the opportunity to learn how the Foundation is supporting the Lebanon Community School Corporation through awarding teacher/classroom grants and student scholarships.
For attendees that have not toured Hattie B. Stokes Elementary School, tours will be provided from 6:00-6:30pm. Dinner will be served from 6:30-7:30pm and the Achieve Academy students will provide musical entertainment by playing several songs on their violins. Dinner includes Honey Stung Chicken, Vegetables, Au Gratin Potatoes, Dinner Role, Dinner Salad and Cobbler Pie. The dinner is $10 per person and money will be collected at the door that evening. Featured speakers for the annual meeting include Representative Jeff Thompson (House District 28). Representative Thompson is the House Educational School Funding Chair and a Danville Community High School Teacher. Lebanon Community School Corporation teachers, Pam Shelby and Karen Turner will also speak and share how they have used their Foundation grant money to enhance the Accelerated Math program in the elementary schools. Special recognition will be given during the meeting to major foundation donors, supporters and grant and scholarship winners. A special award will be presented during the evening titled, "The David S. Richey Distinguished Service Award," which is an award given each year to a business or individual supporter who has provided outstanding service and contribution to the Foundation.
