10th Anniversary Firecracker Classic 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament

Saturday, June 29, 2002

This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the Firecracker Classic 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament. This basketball fundraiser was originally created to help raise money to support the mission of the Lebanon Educational Foundation, which is to promote excellence in education through providing grants, scholarships and awards within the Lebanon Community School Corporation. In 2001, the 3-on-3-basketball tournament consisted of 106 teams that were comprised of 4 players each from Lebanon and surrounding communities. Over $11,000 was raised to support the LEF mission in 2001. The MVP sponsor for a second year in a row is Boone REMC.

Individuals interested in having a team in the tournament should contact the Lebanon Educational Foundation, local schools, the Lebanon Public Library or the Lebanon Parks Department for a registration form. It is $80 per team to enter. Individual competitive events will include a slam-dunk contest, three point and free throw shoot-outs. Half court and full court sponsors are still needed for the tournament. Go to www.firecrackerclassic.com for more information and a registration form or call the Lebanon Educational Foundation office at 765-482-1185 or lebedfd@in-motion.net.
