- Preparing for the Holidays: Greetings Galore from 6:30 - 8 pm at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library (250 N. Fifth St., Zionsville). Get in the holiday spirit and get ahead of the game this season. Join us for a relaxing evening of collage card making. Artist Paula Scott Franz will share various methods for creating memorable, handcrafted greetings. Participants may leave with their holiday cards all wrapped up. - PAWS To Read from 4 - 5 pm at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library (250 N. Fifth St., Zionsville). A monthly program that encourages reading for students in grades 1 - 4. Participants may share a book with a furry, four-legged friend from TheraPets of Indiana on the first Tuesday of each month. The certified therapy dogs help create a safe environment for children as they read aloud and practice their reading skills. Space is limited and registration is required for each program. - Teen Council Meeting from 7 - 8:15 pm at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library (250 N. Fifth St., Zionsville). The Teen Council is comprised of students in grades 7 - 12 who help plan and promote teen services at the Library. Interested teens may attend this, or any future meeting of the council. Preregistration is not required.
- The Music Group Presents...Musical Families from 7 - 8:30 pm at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library (250 N. Fifth St., Zionsville). Get acquainted with the lesser known family members of famous composers and musicians. Bring an interest in hearing compositions by artists that you won't hear on the radio or at the symphony. "Our Heroes’ Tree" at 6:30 pm at Lebanon Public Library in the Ralph W. Stark Heritage Center at LPL (104 E. Washington St. Lebanon, IN 46052). Terri Batts, mother of Spc. Joseph Strong KIA Iraq Dec. 2006,
will speak on behalf of the Blue Star Hoosier Mothers of America.
Don Campbell, Boone County Veterans Service Officer will present a DVD of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqui Freedom including Afghanistan with statistics of Hoosier, Fallen Soldiers through October 2009. Please join the community as we dedicate “Our Heroes’ Tree” by lighting it with 21 lights for all to see as our commitment to honor those who served.

This monthly book club, formerly known as Books Over Coffee, is an informal gathering for adults who like to discuss any book they have read in the last month. Light refreshments are included. Indiana author Peggy Archer will share her book, Turkey Surprise, with students in grades K - 5 as they celebrate the coming holiday with stories, songs and a craft. - Folk Harp Music Concert at St. Francis Episcopal Church (1525 Mulberry Street, Zionsville). The perfect way to refreshingly end your work week: Mary Kay Bonner, folk harpist and certified music therapist, will regale you with soothing sounds of the British Isles and other relaxing music. The evening begins at 6 pm with light refreshments. The concert starts at 6:30 pm, lasting for about an hour. Naturalists from the Zion Nature Center will join librarians as they share their knowledge about local animals through read-aloud stories, rhymes, activities and a real animal meet-and-greet. Children 3 - 6, accompanied by a parent, will meet at the library for storytime fun, then walk to the Nature Center to meet and learn about real animals. Please dress appropriately for the weather.
