Creative Stitchers June 2005 Meeting

Monday, June 13, 2005 at at 9:30am in the 4H Annex Building

Creative Stitchers will be meeting Monday, June 13th at 9:30am in the 4H Annex bldg. Special guest artist, Kathleen Leuck, will be presenting a workshop on design from an artist's pespective.

Attendees will learn how to create a miniature landscape using small pieces of fabric. Use of line, composition, color, and other techniques will be taught. The finished project will be suitable for a wall hanging, pillow top, etc. Kathy is a local artist who has studied various mediums with internationally known artists such as Maxine Masterfield and Virginia Cobb. Much of her work is abstract and focuses on strong lines, design and color. Collage with hand dyed papers can be seen in much of her art. Alothough most of her creativity in recent years has resulted in the production of fine art, her second passion is creating with fabric and texture.

Leuck's work has been exhibited at the Wabash Valley Watercolor Show, The Religious Arts Festival, the Frankfort Library Show, Penrod Art Fair, the Broad Ripple Art Fair, The Munce Art Fair and Eagle Creek Coffee Company of Zionsville, to name a few. She has been featured at Framed Wright Gallery in Thorntown and has a permanent exhibit at Curves in Lebanon. Some of her work was exhibited in May at Starbucks on 86th St.

Kathy is married to David, has lived in Lebanon for the last 30 years, is a registered nurse and vice president of the Zonta Club in Lebanon.
