2003 Festival of Wreaths

Come on down and enjoy “Christmas on the Square”in Lebanon - a day filled with lots of holiday fun and activities for the entire family! !

Summary of Events

Christmas Trees will be decorated by local elementary schools and will be displayed on each side of the Courthouse Square. Local scout groups, churches, schools and organizations will be caroling around the square throughout the day, along with selling hot cocoa and baked goods.

Details:

The day begins at 11am with Santa arriving Downtown on the Calliope and will be available for visits and pictures in the Courthouse Rotunda until 3pm. Kids will be allowed to take rides on the Calliope at that time. Centre Stage Community Theatre will be providing a holiday presentation in the Courthouse Rotunda from 1:15-1:45pm. The Sundown Band will perform holiday ballads in the Courthouse from 2-3:30pm leading up to the Wreath Auction at 3:30pm.

The 2nd Annual Wreath Auction will begin at 3:30pm in the Courthouse Rotunda. Local businesses donate a holiday wreath for the auction. Larry Clark & Steve Cross will be donating their auctioneering services for this event. Wreaths may be viewed in the participating downtown business locations beginning with the Open House on Saturday, November 22nd through Friday, December 5th. The Auction is open to the public to bid on the holiday wreaths displayed. Proceeds will again benefit the Boone County Mental Health Department to provide holiday cheer for local less fortunate families this holiday season. The Lebanon High School Madrigals will perform immediately following the Auction. The holiday season will officially begin with the presentation of the lighting of downtown by Mayor Acton at 6pm on the south-side of the Courthouse Square.

Other Festival activities throughout the day include: The 3rd Annual Scavenger Hunt sponsored by the Lebanon Reporter from 11am-2pm, 2nd Annual Kid’s Make It & Take it at Barbwire ’n Roses Beadz & Needz – kids can create a special holiday beaded gift for family or friends from 10am – 4pm. The First Presbyterian Church’s Presby Pantry from 9am-2pm which includes craft items, bake sale, shopping and children’s shopping area, the LHS Z-Club will be providing holiday gift wrapping services in the Lebanon Public Library from 10am – 2pm, donations will be accepted.
