MONTHLY MEETING OF DIRECTORS
LEBANON PUBLIC LIBRARY MEETING ROOM
LEBANON, INDIANA 46052

Pursuant to Notice given all members of the Board of Directors via Electronic Mail, the Monthly Meeting convened upon the President calling the same to order. (As in “Let’s get going !”)

The meeting was called to Order by President Wallace and the agenda was pursued as previously distributed via E-Mail. Board Members present were John Wallace, Chad Martin, Rebecca Hull, Terry McCain, and Dave Truitt.

ITEM I: System Administrator’s Report: - Terry provided her report and itemized the particulars. There were 3865 visits to the site in March, primarily from WeBo and Lebanon students downloading information. They are really going to town and churning things up. The number of visits in April was up to 4057, again with Webo and Lebanon being the largest users.

Judge David, of the Boone Circuit Court, sent a CD to Terry about a Circuit Court site that had been started sometime ago. It needs a little work before becoming final. This project will be worked on with a student site from WeBo. The judge has assembled a sort of County wide task force that is working on this project.
Terry is going out to WeBo tomorrow to visit with the students and see how the not for profit site work is progressing. Some will be up and ready to post soon.
Two new volunteers have surfaced from the home show booth last month at the fairgrounds: Brian Donahue and Annette Bowden. Terry is hooking them up with non-profits that need help with their pages. There are 567 on the email news list now as a result of the home show signups and promotion.

ITEM II - The Content Report – John reported that the Boone County Solid Waste Management site now has minutes of their meetings posted. The county has also paid for some reports on groundwater resources that would make good information. John felt maybe an announcement about the availability of this information should be made.
John talked about the possibility of having credit card access to us through the Community Foundation site. Terry had scheduled a presentation before them last month but did not have the opportunity to complete this action. She will possibly be returning to a later meeting. She had spoken with Lisa John, the Executive Director of BCCF who seemed to think that the Boone County Community Foundation Board members were in favor of being able to accept credits cards for donations and membership fees.

ITEM III: Treasurers Report - Rebecca submitted a written report that showed the corporate memberships and financial activities for the prior month. She is enjoying her new responsibility. We need to get a full listing of members in place. There were 340 entries placed into the Home show box shoebox. Amy King was the winner of the fun filled basket and Rebecca saw that the winner received her prize. Rebecca would like to get authority to buy more baskets in the near future. This is a great promotional tool with realtors. She has spoken with Sally Burroughs, a local realtor, who would love to have this promotional opportunity available for move-ins. Rebecca has made up some “mug baskets” that would really be all that new commercial clients need to know to “get connected” in Boone County.

ITEM V: CFBC/Lilly Grant – A lot of the sites under the grant are about ready. John suggested that this would be a good news story about all of the new websites being developed for non-profit organizations. Kathy Fox from Western Boone could be interviewed. So could some of the students who have worked hard to develop them. We received a nice Thank You note from the Tri-Area Library Board President for the new computer system and the one year of ISP provided by their grant.

OTHER STUFF/NEW BUSINESS: Terry suggested that some of the graphic banners need to be revised and updated. Maines Minute Print would be one that was mentioned. The membership list on the site may not be up to date. Terry will check this out. ICNA membership was a topic of discussion. Things appear to be working well with that organization. They have about 12-15 people at their meetings. There are about 30+ community networks still in existence. About all of them are volunteer organizations and about all have gotten out of the ISP business. Access Indiana has changed their site once again. The dues to ICNA need to be paid. Chad moved and Rebecca seconded. The vote was unanimous.
