Symphony Events

The Symphony at Sunset Group, Inc. activities annually include
several fund raising events in order to support our
philanthropic endeavors. Among those are the Symphony Tea and
Annual Membership Meeting held each spring, the 5K Rock-n-Roll
Run & Walk held each fall in conjunction with the Back to the
Fifties Festival, our Cheeseball sales, and the ever popular
Symphony at Sunset Pops Concert in late June.
- Symphony Tea and Annual Membership Meeting - This event
is a rare opportunity to spend time with friends and family
listening to a small group of Indianapolis Symphony
Orchestra musicians in an intimate setting while enjoying a
sumptuous tea. Membership in the Symphony at Sunset Group
can be attained by a payment of dues. This does not
obligate the member to serve on any committee or participate
in any symphony activities. Our projects, however; would
not be possible without the continued support of our
members.
This years Membership meeting will be held Friday evening, May 7th, 2010
at Ulen Country Club. It's a perfect way to end a hectic work week -
friends, delectable desserts and an evening of wonderful music.
- 5K Rock-n-Roll Run & Walk - The race begins at Lebanon
Memorial Park and winds down the beautiful tree lined streets of Lebanon
and back through the park. There are several divisions for both
runners and walkers, and male and females. Registration is required
along with an entry fee. Pre-registered entrants receive a
commemorative t-shirt. Plan to make this fun and worthwhile activity a
part of your fall celebrations.
Join us this year at the Back To The Fifties Festival on
Saturday, September 18th, 2010.
- Cheese Ball Sales - The
sale of delectable Bleu Cheese and Smoked Cheddar cheese balls has
almost become synonymous with Symphony at Sunset. These savory
offerings are still hand made by present and past board members and
associates using a recipe handed down from one of the original members
of the Indianapolis Symphony Society, Boone Symphony Unit. Only the
highest quality ingredients are used to make the 15 oz. pecan and
parsley encrusted mixture of cheeses (and secret ingredients!) making
them worth every penny of the $7.00 purchase price. The cheese balls
are made in November - just in time for the holidays - but freeze
beautifully for year round enjoyment. Available through board members
and our website, try some today!
- Symphony at Sunset Pops
Concert - Our hallmark, the Symphony at Sunset Pops Concert is held
in late June in conjunction with the July 4th activities. Thousands of
music lovers from the community and surrounding areas congregate at
Abner Longley Southside park in Lebanon each year to picnic and enjoy
the exhilarating sounds of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
So mark your calendar for Sunday evening, June 27th, 2010 and spend an evening enjoying friends, family, luscious foods, a wondrous sunset, awe-inspiring music,
and breathtaking fireworks. Truly an evening to remember.
