THORNTOWN PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
May 14, 2004

President Eric Ragsdale called the public hearing to order at 7:30 am. Members in attendance were: Teresa Carter, Patty Ramsey and Linda Yoder. Also present were Library Director Karen Niemeyer, and Clerk of the Works Craig White.

In the absence of any members of the public, Teresa moved the public hearing on the 2005-7 Capital Projects Fund be adjourned at 7:41 am. Patty seconded, and the meeting was adjourned.

Eric called the regular meeting to order at 7:42 am.

Patty moved the Board approve the Capital Projects Library Fund proposal for 2005-2007 as presented. Linda seconded, and the motion passed.

Karen presented a new claim on behalf of Clinton Township resident Kristy Mattingly. Kristy paid for her own card right after the agreement that Clinton Township would pay for its citizens, so she would like a refund of her cost, allowing Clinton Township to pay for her. Linda moved approval of the Mattingly claim, Teresa seconded, and the motion passed.

With regards to the building project, there were two issues to resolve. One was the question of whether or not the Board wanted to pay the additional money to ensure that the soldier row of bricks and the limestone keystones were uniform with the Carnegie. The second issue was the question of whether to move ahead with the installation of pavers since Flaugher agreed to do it for $2,200, a substantial savings over the bids presented at the last meeting. Patty moved that Flaugher install the pavers and that the brick and limestone work be uniform on all sides of the building; Linda seconded the motion, which passed.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 on a motion from Teresa and a second by Patty.
