The Farm Heritage Trail follows the former route of the Big Four Railroad in Boone County, Indiana and beyond. The corridor has been serving the transportation needs of the region since 1852 when the railroad first put the line into service. Today 20 miles of trail connects cities and towns across the county. Once complete the 40 mile trail will cross through some of the most beautiful farm country in America joining Lafayette to Zionsville through Colfax, Thorntown, Lebanon and Whitestown. Plans are now underway to extend the trail 10 miles south to Zionsville. View map of current trail. Farm Heritage Trail Brochure (PDF 1.7 MB) |
